Webinar: Empowering the next generation of community woodland leaders, 30 March, 6-7pm

CWA is hosting a free event inspired by the question “how can we empower the next generation of community woodland leaders?” Speakers include Liam McLoone (Chair of Arkaig Community Forest); Amy Davidson (Community Woods & Garden Manager, Polbeth & West Calder); Samuel Lindsay (Woodland Ranger & Ecologist, Bute Community Forest); and Fritha West (Centre for Forest Protection, University of St Andrews).

The panel will explore the benefits of younger people being more involved in community woodlands; highlight different routes into the movement (volunteering, staff, board membership etc); and discuss how community woodland groups can empower younger people to get more involved. There will be plenty of opportunities for discussion and attendees are invited to share their perspectives too.

This Community Woodlands Association event is aimed at members, staff and directors of community woodland groups, as well as anyone with an interest in increasing the accessibility and diversity of the community woodland movement.
