Community Trail Building event - Lochcarron 15 August

This event is led by the Community Woodlands Association and Paths for All and hosted by Lochcarron Community Development Company at the Smithy Community Hub, Strathcarron IV54 8YS. The event is the first in a sequence of Trail Building workshops scheduled over the next 12 months as part of CWA’s LEADER-funded Multitrails project.

Morning presentations will take delegates through the logical process of contemplating new access proposals: setting objectives, surveying & trail specification, resourcing and costing. An afternoon site visit to Kirkton community woodland will explore the range of new access provision created there: forest roading, all-abilities and informal ‘as dug’ trails as well as old drove track maintenance and their future access objectives. Morning refreshments and lunch will be provided. Reasonable travel costs from within the Highlands can be reclaimed on submission of an expense claim (@ 25p/mile).
