Funding available for community tree planting, International Tree Foundation
The International Tree Foundation (ITF) is a UK-based charity dedicated to community tree planting. They want to support tree planting in Scotland and are looking for suitable community groups to partner with.
Key points:
You must be a properly constituted community group with permission to plant trees on the site
The project can be woodland creation or restock (where the restock will improve biodiversity, amenity, etc)
Support from ITF does not preclude grant aid from the Forestry Grant Scheme
There are no absolute minimum or maximum sizes of project but general expectation is between 1000 and 5000 trees
Funding support is usually at £1.25/tree
Tree planting must take place on publicly-accessible land.
Projects in the Glasgow are of particular interest, but offer is open to anywhere in Scotland.
Please contact Sam Pearce sam@internationaltreefoundation.org for an application form or to discuss a potential project.
