Funding available for community tree planting, International Tree Foundation

The International Tree Foundation (ITF) is a UK-based charity dedicated to community tree planting. They want to support tree planting in Scotland and are looking for suitable community groups to partner with.

Key points:

  • You must be a properly constituted community group with permission to plant trees on the site

  • The project can be woodland creation or restock (where the restock will improve biodiversity, amenity, etc)

  • Support from ITF does not preclude grant aid from the Forestry Grant Scheme

  • There are no absolute minimum or maximum sizes of project but general expectation is between 1000 and 5000 trees

  • Funding support is usually at £1.25/tree

  • Tree planting must take place on publicly-accessible land.

  • Projects in the Glasgow are of particular interest, but offer is open to anywhere in Scotland.

Please contact Sam Pearce sam@internationaltreefoundation.org  for an application form or to discuss a potential project.
